SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ –The Sussex County officials reported 66 new cases and no additional deaths on November 25.

As of November 25 there were 2,764 cases of COVID-19 in the county, 198 deaths and 2078 recovered coronavirus patients. One prior case has been reassigned out of the county.

In New Jersey the Rt rate lowered slightly to 1.24 as of November 25. Any number over 1 indicates the virus is spreading. The mortality rate in the state continues to decline as the rate of positive tests is increasing.

State officials announced hospitalizations on Wednesday are 2,902 from 2,785 on Tuesday. Of those in the hospital 545 are in intensive care and 281 are on ventilators, 344 people have been discharged on November 25, “deaths excluded.”

New Jersey had an additional 4,042 new coronavirus cases and 50 COVID-19 deaths on November 24 according to the state department of health.

New Jersey Department of Health COVID-19 dashboard reported there were 15,057 deaths and 317,905 confirmed positive coronavirus cases. The mortality rate of 4.73% as of November 25 continues to decline. The dashboard said 5,827,339 New Jersey residents been tested as of November 25 representing a 5.45% positivity rate.

Essex County is reporting the highest COVID-19 death toll with 1,989 coronavirus related deaths and the highest number of positive tests in the state with 33,830 positive test results. 

Bergen County has the second the highest number of positive tests in the state with 32,912 patients and 1,864 deaths. Hudson County is reporting 30,021 positive tests and 1,409 deaths. 

According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus resource center, the United States currently has 12,770,716 confirmed cases and 262,145 coronavirus deaths, with a mortality rate of 2.05%. As of November 25, New York City continues to report the highest number of coronavirus related deaths with a reported 34,387 New York has also reported 84,001 recovered coronavirus patients.

New Jersey Department of Human Services has launched a hotline for residents who need help coping with stress and anxiety during the health crisis.  The hotline is open from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. seven days a week- 866-202-4357.

St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson is also providing a free helpline for hearing impaired Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 973-870-0677.
