Taste of Newton Festival Creates a Delicious Aroma on Spring Street

NEWTON, NJ—The 14th Annual Taste of Newton Festival brought gourmet food to Spring Street on Monday, September 21.

The rain held out from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., during the Taste of Newton gourmet food tasting event on Spring Street.

Town Manager Thomas S Russo Jr. attended the event, as did as Newton High School’s Principal Jeff Waldron with his wife Meg. “This was our first time attending this event," said Waldron, “We really enjoyed the food."

There was music provided by the band Unsung Heroes. There were 22 restaurants and caterers that participated in the event.

Town of Newton workers helped set-up all the stands, tables, and chairs and took everything down at the end of the night. Their reward- as much food as they could eat. One worker, Roy Leyman, was scouting out the flavors at Cliff’s Ice Cream.
