NEWTON, NJ - The Town of Newton has announced there will be a delay in the August 1 tax bill.  The State budget that was recently passed included additional school aid money.  According to the town the Board of Education intends to pass any additional tax relief onto the tax payers. 

The town was not notified about the amount of relief coming from Trenton in time for the August 1 tax bill to be sent out by the July 14 deadline.  As a result the extended date cannot yet be announced.

The recreation department still has tickets to the Yankees versus Mets Subway Series on August 15.  The cost per person is $110 and includes round-trip bus transportation, game ticket.  Also included is the All You Care to Eat package with unlimited hot dogs, sausages, pretzels, and Pepsi products through the 5th inning.

The Lakeland charter bus will depart the Newton Park & Ride at 4:45 p.m.  Game starts at 7:05 p.m.
