NEWTON, NJ—Town of Newton officials have announced new hours for several municipal services.
Effective Monday, March 1, the Town of Newton municipal offices will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The previous hours were 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The staff will continue to be available via email and phone between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Effective Tuesday, March 2 the recycling center will be adding Tuesday hours to its regular schedule.
The Newton Recycling Center, located on South Park Drive, will be open on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., which is in addition to Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
SCUMA has notified local government recycling haulers that any and all recyclables delivered to the SCUMA Facility cannot contain any of the following contaminates:
- Plastic bags/film/packaging material
- Construction debris (wood/metal/glass),
- Food waste
- Hazardous materials
The Town of Newton reminds its residents make sure their recyclables are clean dry and loose as well.
