Two Newton Men Face Drug Charges After Report of Suspicious Vehicle, Sparta Police Say

SPARTA, NJ – Acting on a call about a suspicious car parked at the end of a cul-de-sac on Crownview Court, two Newton teens face drug charges.  On September 5 around 11:41 a.m. Cpl. Richard Smith found the car in question with Pennsylvania tags parked on the road with no occupants, police report.

Sparta High School Alumnus Graduates from Marine Corp Boot Camp

September 10, 2017

SPARTA, NJ - Sparta High School alumnus recently graduated from boot camp at the Marine Corp Recruiting Depot in Parris Island, South Carolina.  Nicholas Macierowski completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training on August 18.

Macierowski earned the title Expert Marksman and was an artist for his Platoon 2058.

Research results presented last week at the annual conference of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes showed an association between salt intake and the risk of developing type II diabetes.
