Midsommar at Vasa Park

Midsommar at Vasa Park is a Scandinavian Celebration of the Summer Solstice.  We also celebrate Barnensdag, Swedish Children's Day.  The Gate opens at 10am and Parking and Admission are Free!   You can also enjoy a Free Swim in our Olympic Size Pool (weather permitting).

Get into the Spirit of the Day by making a flower wreath for your hair, helping to decorate and Raise the Maypole.  Learn Ring Dances and dance around the Maypole.  Relax under the covered Pavilion while watching the colorful Traditional Scandinavian costumes worn by Skansen Children's Club and Vasastjarnan Jr Club members as they perform.  Put on your dancing shoes during the public dance session and twirl to the Nordic Beat.  Music provided by well known Accordionist Ed Hendela and Jean Erickson Anderson and her internationally known Smorgasbandet. Shop for Scandinavian Crafts and other Imported Goods.  Food is available for purchase from the Vasa Park Ladies' Auxiliary at Lilla Stugan and from Big Olaf Ice Cream.

Wind up your Midsommar experience with a Party on the Patio by the pool.  Hope to see you there!

Sparta Police: Wanted Elizabeth Man Gets DWI

SPARTA, NJ – A man from Elizabeth was stopped for crossing the line on Tomahawk Trail.  Sparta Police Officer Jonathan Poon stopped Eduardo Idiaquez, 45, on July 8, around 7:30 p.m. police said.

 I have spent considerable time trying to find somewhere on Lake Hopatcong to bring my dog for a swim.
What I have found is ridiculous - this lake has approximately 28 miles of shoreline and I found NO PLACE am allowed to bring him.  Am hoping you can make the public aware and maybe someone will know more than me and inform where dogs are allowed?
