Sussex County Views: The Art of Toni Chaplin

This summer arts exhibit held at Sparta Historical Society's Van Kirk Homestead Museum will incorporate a diversity of original watercolors and print images by Sparta artist, Toni Chaplin.  Local sites, such as Waterloo Village, Klemm Farm, Heaters Pond, including beautiful vistas, Lake Mohawk and other historic sites, native birds and flowers will be featured.  Some works will be for sale.   FINAL DAY OF EXHIBIT.   members free, $5 non-members

Sparta Police: Wanted Newton Man Picked Up After Traffic Stop

SPARTA, NJ – A Newton man was picked up on open warrants following a traffic stop.  On September 7 around 10 a.m. Police Officer Brian Porter stopped Kaseem Harris, 29 for equipment violation on the blue Ford Pickup truck he was driving on East Mountain Road, police report.
