SPARTA, NJ – Area dogs now have a place to get groomed. Muddy Pawz opened their doors on Sunday, with many new four legged friends coming in to see what was available and get their nails clipped. Mayor Molly Whilesmith came by to help with the ribbon cutting ceremony and congratulation the new business owner Sam Paul.
After years of working for others and training groomers Sam Paul took the leap and opened her own shop in Sparta. Her mom Karen, aunt Dawn, siblings and friends were all at the new shop to help celebrate.
Muddy Pawz is a family affair. For the opening, Paul’s sister made paw shaped cookies, brother brought cup cakes and fellow groomers helped with the dogs. Sam Paul’s mother has been a big part of the store’s construction project, making sure things turned out just as Sam planned.
Sam Paul's father, who passed away in June, had created the logo she used for the sign and on the shirts.
As of opening day, Muddy Pawz already booked 24 clients for the upcoming week according to Karen Paul.
The shop is conveniently located in the center of Sparta near Talbots, with the back parking lot away from Sparta Avenue traffic. Muddy Pawz at 25 Sparta Avenue plans to be open:
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Thursday from 1 to 7 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
