SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ – Sussex County Department of Health has announced there have been six additional COVID-19 related deaths as of April 11.  Five of the six cases have been in Andover Township.  A 84-year-old woman, a 74-year-old man, a 70-year-old woman, a 92-year-old woman, a 68-year-old man and a 90-year-old man from Newton have lost their lives to the coronavirus.

Sussex County Department of Health Director McDonald is also reporting 70 additional patients have been identified for Friday and Saturday, April 10 and 11.

Governor Murphy announced restrictions for NJ Transit and private carriers.  They must cut capacity to 50%.  All public transit riders must wear a face covering when traveling.

The most recent executive order also requires residents to wear a face mask when entering a restaurant to pick up their take-out order.  This is not required for curbside pick up.

The FEMA testing sites will be closed on Easter Sunday.

The New Jersey COVID-19 dashboard reports as of April 11, there have been 58,151 positive tests, 62,042 negative tests and 2,183 deaths, related to coronavirus. Bergen County continues to have the most patients with 9,362 and 435 deaths, Essex County has 7,007 patients with 412 deaths, .  

According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus resource center, The United States currently has 501,419 confirmed cases with 32,001 recovered patients and 20,604 coronavirus deaths.  New York City has reported 6,367 COVID-19 related deaths.
