NEWTON, NJ - Municipal offices will have a two-hour delay and open at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2019.

-Customers who are without power can pick up free ice and water at the following locations:

  • Shop Rite - Ronetco 125 Water St. Newton NJ
  • Shop Rite - Ronetco 18 N Village Blvd. Sparta NJ
  • ACME 152 Rt 94 Blairstown
  • ACME 530 Rt 515 Vernon NJ

-Curbside recycling pickup originally scheduled for December 3 has been rescheduled and will now occur on December 4. Call (973) 383-4160 for more information.

-Newton-Green shared court has been canceled for Tuesday, December 3.

-According to JCP&L approximately 22% of their customers are without power as of 10 p.m. on Monday.  There are more than 800 customers in the dark with power anticipated to be restored by 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the JCP&L website.

-Newton public schools will be closed on Tuesday, December 3 due to hazardous driving conditions and power outages. 

-Newton municipal building will be closed on Monday, December 2 due to winter weather according to town officials.

-The Newton Senior Shuttle is canceled for Monday, December 2 due to winter weather.
