SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ -Preliminary primary election results are being reported by Sussex County Clerk Jeff Parrott, on Tuesday, July 7.  The primarily all mail-in primary will not be certified until July 24 Parrott said. 

The mail-in ballots were counted by three scanners, according to Parrott with the capacity to scan 8,000 ballots per day.

Mail-in ballots post marked July 7 received by the board of elections by July 14 will be counted.

Voters who have ballots “kicked out” of the initial scanning process will be contacted by mail, giving them the opportunity to remedy the ballot.  The voters can use the postage paid envelope to address the issue by July 23.
