NEWTON, NJ — Downtown Newton is alive with color once again as the annual flowering baskets have been installed on its lampposts. The baskets are provided by the Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce with support from its members. They are the first town decorations to be hung each year-- followed by American flags in the early summer and festive wreaths for the winter holidays—on Spring and surrounding streets in our county seat.
The baskets are planted by Ideal Farm & Garden Center in Lafayette and installed by the Newton Department of Public Works.
The Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize the businesses that have generously contributed to this year’s decorating fund:
- Teyma General Contractor
- SB One Bank
- US Insurance Agency
- Hayek’s Market
- Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home
- Maxwell & Molly’s Closet
“We are grateful to our donors for their support of our year-round decorating efforts,” Executive Director for the Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce Michele Egan said. “The decorations are fundamental to our goal of encouraging visitors and customers to spend their time in Newton, and they make this town an even more welcoming place to work and live.”
