SPARTA, NJ – Retired American flags will receive the treatment befitting the symbol.  Sparta residents have two new flag collection boxes to dispose of flags no longer fit to fly.

Sparta VFW Commander Peter Litchfield said the township manager William Close had facilitated getting the new boxes.  He said the old one was an old post office letter collection box with a broken door.

The new collection boxes are “beautiful and much appreciated by us at the VFW,” Litchfield said.
