NEWTON, NJ- The Newton municipal building will reopen to the public for walk-in service beginning Monday, July 6. The revised hours of operation, according to township officials, will be 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
During the height of the pandemic and stay-at-home executive orders, the Town of Newton has continued to be open to carry out the business of the town. While walk-in service was restricted, all residents, businesses and visitors were taken care of online, town officials said.
People who need to do business with the town are encouraged to continue to do as much work remotely as possible but, beginning July 6, there is the option to come into the building during the revised business hours.
Town officials will continue to offer several options through the Town of Newton website including:
- Signing up to receive alerts,
- Pay tax and utility bills electronically,
- Report a concern to the staff.
Town employees will continue to be available via email and phone. Should residents need assistance determining the best point of contact to address their needs, they are encouraged to contact the town manager’s office at 973-383-3521 x 228 or email email@example.com
Visitors to town hall are welcome but will be required to wear a mask at all times inside the building as well as maintain social distancing for their health and the health of the town staff.
