LAFAYETTE, NJ – A Newton man died in an car accident on Route 94 on Monday around 10:37 p.m. when a tow truck crossed the center line and hit him head-on.  James Ziniewicz, 43 was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident according to New Jersey State Trooper Alejendro Goez.

The two passengers in Ziniewicz’s Honda Civic were both seriously injured in the crash.  Newton resident Alisha Jackson, 31 and Hamburg resident Bassirou Diaite, 33 were taken to Morristown Medical Center for treatment, according to police.

The tow truck driver Joseph Crilley, 29 also of Newton, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Newton Hospital, according to Goez. 

According to Goez the investigation is ongoing.  There is no further information on the medical condition of Jackson and Diaite as of publication.
