NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School boys team shutout Sparta on Saturday, September 24 winning 4-0.

Patrick Bresney led the Braves in scoring, with two goals to the scoreboard. Shawn Coiro and Tommy Hermann each contributed one goal as well.

NEWTON, NJ—The Newton Braves field hockey team took the first round of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tournament, when they played the 17-seeded North Warren and won 5-0 on Saturday, September 24.

NEWTON, NJ—The Newton high school girls soccer team was shutout by Sparta playing on the Spartan field, Saturday, September 24.  The final score was 5-0.

Newton's six shots were all stopped by Sparta’s two keepers. Julia Flake had four saves and Lia Gaccione who had one.
