NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School bowling team is getting set for a new season.
The team lost Reese Matonis and Brandon Carnegie due to graduation but have four promising newcomers and six returning players.
“Several bowlers have made some great strides already,” head coach John Zwitkowits said. Zwitkowits has been the head coach for three years. “We are working on being a little more consistent in our approach.”
Seniors Bobby Burt, Luke Kerrick, Mackenzie Miller, and Dominique Simeone are all returning players, as well as junior Arianna Gali and sophomore Cyril Tabaranza.
Newcomers include freshman Vincent Maybee, juniors John Yazdanfor and Sal Dellamonica, and senior Sean Moffat.
“We hope to give some teams a run for their money this year,” Zwitkowits said The Braves have their first match at their home spot, Sparta Lanes, on Tuesday, December 3 against Lenape Valley beginning at 4 p.m.
