NEWTON, NJ—The Newton high school boys basketball team got an easy win at Parsippany Hills, 65-39 on Monday, December 23. The Braves played the 1 o’clock game during the school’s holiday break.

The Braves had 21 rebounds throughout the game. Aaron Fantasia led the Braves in scoring, contributing 27 points, following him was Brian McKeown with 13, and JD Heller with nine. Jack Young had eight points and Dylan Bailey had five.

Fantasia had a good showing for the Braves with 12 2-pointers and three foul shots. McKeown and Heller each added two 2-pointers and 3-pointers and sunk one from the foul line.

The Newton High School boys basketball team moved their record for the 2019-2020 season to 2-0 overall and in the NJAC division. The team will begin an in-season tournament during the holiday break on Friday, December 27.

Newton will be playing at Warren Hills. The game will take place beginning at 1 p.m. but the opponent is still yet to be determined.
