NEWTON, NJ -  The Newton High School boys basketball crushed Lenape Valley 69-23 in their home opener on Friday.  The Braves took a 10 point lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

It was a team effort with three Braves scoring in the double digits.

  • Aaron Fantasia put up 19 points with seven 2-pointers, a 3-pointer and three free throws.
  • Brian McKeown added 12 points with two under the net, two from three point land and two from the free throw line.
  • Dylan Bailey had 10 points with two from inside the paint and two from outside the key.

Darrell Mims had seven points and G Tebangin contributed with five.

The boys will play at Parsippany Hills on Monday, beginning at 7 p.m.
