NEWTON, NJ—The Newton Boys Basketball team easily defeated Lenape Valley 69-23 at home on Friday.

The Braves scored 18 points in the first quarter and 22 points in the second, taking to halftime with a score of 40-13. Newton continued to score at will in the second half, adding 14 in the third and finally 15 more points in the fourth quarter.

Three Braves scored in double digits. Aaron Fantasia led the Braves with 19 points. Fantasia made seven 2-pointers, one 3-pointer and sunk three from the free throw line. Brian McKeown put up 12 points and Dylan Bailey contributed 10.

Darrell Mims added seven points, while Gabriel Tebangin scored five, and Donovan Thomas and Jack Young had four apiece.

JD Heller scored three points, along with Angelico Villacruz, while Kellen Miller scored two points to add to the Braves’ score.

The Newton High School boys basketball team will play away against Hanover Park on Wednesday, December 25 beginning at 1 p.m.
