NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School boys basketball team won a close game against Livingston, 59-55.
Newton led in the first quarter by one, but fell to Livingston in the second quarter, going into halftime trailing by six. The Braves battled back in the third, dominating 21-13 and then again in the fourth quarter 17-15 to take the victory.
JD Heller led the Braves with 14 points; two 2-pointers, three 3-pointers and one foul shot. Brian McKeown followed closely with 13 points. Aaron Fantasia put up 11.
Donovan Thomas and Dylan Bailey each contributed eight points and Jack Young added five.
The Newton High School boys basketball team moved their overall record to 5-2 and their NJAC division record to 3-0.
