NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School boys soccer team shut out Phillipsburg when they played them away on Thursday.

The game remained at a tie until the final whistle and ended up going into a third period, overtime period.

During the overtime period Toby Woolridge scored  the winning goal with an assist from Luca Morello.

Newton out shot Phillipsburg 13-10. Jackson Heller, Newton’s starting keeper had six saves against Phillipsburg’s offense.

The Newton High School boys soccer team is 12-6-1 overall this year and 9-5 in the NJAC division conference.

They will continue the regular season playing away against North Warren on Friday, October 25 beginning at 4 p.m.
