NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School boys soccer team shut out Vernon 2-0 on Monday when they played them away.

The Braves out shot Vernon 8-3, causing Vernon’s keeper to save six of the shots taken by Newton’s offense.

Robert Giordano and Steven Bottone each scored. Toby Woolridge earned a Braves assist.

The Newton High School boys soccer team is currently 5-2 overall this season as well as 5-2 in the NJAC division. Newton will host Wallkill Valley on Wednesday, beginning at 4 p.m.
