NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School boys soccer team lost 2-1 against Vernon when they hosted them on Newton’s turf on Thursday, September 5.

Offensively, Newton out shot Vernon 13-6 and were tied at one goal apiece going into the second half. Vernon came back in the second half and scored another goal on Braves keeper Jackson Heller, who had six saves throughout the game.

InmerCaal Coc scored the only Newton goal. 

The Newton High School boys soccer team will have the weekend off with their next game on the road at Wallkill Valley on Monday, September 9 beginning at 4 p.m.
