NEWTON, NJ—The eighth grade Newton Youth Football Team, who is undefeated is headed ot the championships for the second year in a row.

The Braves currently play in the Morris County Youth Football League Hills Division and have beat teams from Jefferson, Denville, Hackettstown, Madison and Vernon.

Last week, the Braves defeated Rockaway to earn their spot into the Championships. They will play away against the Roxbury Gaels on Saturday, November 9. They will play at Jannarone Park in Parsippany.

“As on of the smaller teams in the MCYFL, I am incredibly proud for these boys to once again represent Newton, Andover, and Green in this championship game. We have a great mix of players with big hearts and tremendous ability," head coach Scott McCLean said.  "Dean and his coaching staff from Roxbury do a great job and they are the team to beat in our conference. We are excited about the challenge and focused on bringing home the championship."

Roxbury, coached by Dean Campiglia, is also undefeated in the MCYFL Iron Division and the only out of conference loss for the Braves this year.
