NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School Field Hockey team held Hackettstown and Lenape Valley scoreless this week.

Newton played away against Hackettstown on Thursday and won 1-0 and then took on Lenape Valley on Saturday away, and won 2-0.

Newton took 11 shots on goal against the Lenape Valley keeper. Julia Fitt scored both Newton goals against Lenape Valley.  Sidney Pavlishin and Julia Decker each had an assist.

The Braves out shot Hackettstown 10-5 on Thursday. Decker made the sole winning goal for Newton, with an assist by Fitt. Newton’s keeper Abby Berkowitz had four saves.

The Newton High School girls field hockey team is now 7-1 overall this season and 6-1 in the NJAC division. They will play away against Blair on Tuesday, beginning at 4:15 p.m.
