NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School football team ran over High Point on Friday, when they hosted them and won 34-13, making this their second win of the season.
The Braves scored seven points in the first quarter and another 14 in the second. They came back from halftime and were shut out in the third, but added another 13 points to secure the win.
Jack Young put up 339 yards in the air, completing 21 of 26 attempts. Young connected with Ryan Pappas nine times for 161 yards and three trips to the endzone. Dylan Bailey also caught five Young passes for 82 yards and a TD.
Aaron Fantasia pulled down five passes for 65 yards. Fantasia had six carries for 22 yards. On the other side of the ball Fantasia grabbed in interception.
Julian Sibblies had two catches for 19 yards and three runs for 14 yards and six points.
Young ran the ball himself for 62 yards.
Defensively for Newton, Takeo Sibblies had a sack. Jabari Oxley had a total of nine tackles and Jacob Tonking had eight. Bailey and Braydon Nolan with six apiece.
The Newton High School Football team is now 2-2 and will host Hopatcong on Friday, October 4. The kick-off will be at 7 p.m.
