NEWTON, NJ—Newton High School girls basketball crushed Morris Tech 55-28 on Friday.
The Braves came out strong, dominating in the first half, taking the lead going into halftime by 20 points. Morris tech scored another 15 points in the second half, but Newton scored 22 more points to take the victory.
Maddie Gore was the top scorer against Morris Tech, putting up nine 2-pointers and three foul shots to add 21 points to the board. Gore's season point total stands at 232. Amy Fehr contributed eight points along with 18 rebounds throughout the game. Fehr has 147 season points and 184 rebounds.
Taylor Squires, Jessie Brannick, and Olivia Buckley each added six points apiece to the score, followed by Caroline Fox who put up four points.
The Newton High School girls basketball team’s overall record is now 10-5 and their NJAC division record is 8-3. Newton will host Sparta on Wednesday, January 29, beginning at 7 p.m.
