NEWTON, NJ- Newton High School girls soccer shut out Delaware Valley on Friday 6-0.  The number four seed Braves scored three goals in each half against the number 12 seed Del  in the quarterfinal round of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex tournament on Friday.

It was a team effort with six players scoring or contributing with an assist. Lanie Scurali and Blaise Vallorosi each put the ball in the net twice.  Taylor Squires and Jessie Brannick also got past the Warriors keeper for a goal each.  Olivia Buckley and Jocelyn Mull each had two assists.  Scurali and Vallorosi each had an assist as well.

Braves’ keeper Madeline Gore stopped 13 shots.

Newton girls move to the semifinals where they will go up against number one seed North Hunterdon.

They will play a regular season game on Tuesday, hosting High Point starting at 4 p.m.  Their season record stands at 6-6-2.
