NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School girls soccer team beat North Warren 5-1 when they hosted them on Saturday, October 26.

Newton out shot North Warren 25-10. The Braves scored two goals in the first half. North Warren scored their only goal in the second. Newton came back and scored three more to take the win.

Lanie Scurali and Blaise Vallorosi each had two goals during the game. Taylor Squiers scored one goal as well.

Assists were made by Olivia Buckley, Jocelyn Mull, Squiers, Scurali, Vallorosi, and Jessie Brannick.

The Newton High School girls soccer team is entering into the NJSIAA tournament as the 10-seeded team. Their first opponent will be seven-seeded Hawthorne, away, on Monday, October 28, in a night game beginning at 6 p.m.
