NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School girls soccer team took their home opener against Lenape Valley on Tuesday 4-3.

Newton scored three goals in the first half of the game and then secured the win, scoring their final goal in the second half.

Olivia Buckley found the net twice for the Braves. Blaise Vallorosi and Jessie Brannick each got one past the Patriot’s goalie.

Brannick was credited with two assists, while Buckley and Vallorosi each had one assist.

The Braves had 25 shots on Lenape Valley’s goalie.  The Newton keepers Maddie Gore and Caroline Fox each stopped five shots.

The Newton High School girls soccer team will play away against Jefferson on Thursday, September 5 beginning at 4 p.m.
