NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School girls tennis team finished their season with a record of 10-3, clinching the Colonial Division in the NJAC conference for the first time in 29 years.
According to a Facebook post, the team dedicated their 2019-2020 season in memory of classmate Alexis “Lexi” Faye, who passed away on May 11, 2019 in a car accident.
The team is made up of first singles junior, Arianna Gali, second singles senior, Eve Sylvester and third singles, senior Kaylee Westerfield.
The doubles teams are Junior Brittany Reimer and sophomore Maddy Chymiy and junior Erika Ehrenberg, senior, Olivia Martin and senior Hayden Caico.
Their three losses were against Kittatinny twice with a 3-2 score each time, and High Point once, also with a 3-2 score.
