SPARTA, NJ – Lace up the sneakers, grab your hat and gloves it’s Turkey Trot time.  The 13th annual fundraiser for the Sparta Education Foundation will once again bring runners and walkers fill the White Deer Plaza on Thanksgiving morning.

The Sparta Education Foundation anticipates hundreds of participants and spectators for the  Krogh’s Turkey Trot 5K and one mile fun run.

  • On-line registration is open. 
  • Packet pick-up and Pasta Party will be on Wednesday, November 27 from 5 until 8 p.m. catered by Villa Capri II
  • Packet pick-up and same day registration begins at 7 a.m. inside the Lake Mohawk Country Club
  • The one mile run begins at 8:15 a.m.
  • The 5K run is scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m.

The Sparta Education Foundation has given more than $1 million in grants to the Sparta public schools since it was founded in 2006.  The "Tradition before the Tradition" is one of the largest fundraising event for the all volunteer organization and one of the largest Turkey Trots in the region.
