An alleged marijuana dealer wanted on a warrant by Lansdale Police is now in custody, after an off-duty detective spotted him on West Main Street Thursday night.
Police said Shyheed Shaquille Tournkara, aka P-Nut, 21, was wearing a shirt wrapped around his head to conceal his identity.
Tournkara, formerly of the 200 block of Cricklewood Circle, Montgomery Township, was taken into custody after 7 p.m. at Main and Green streets in Lansdale, police said.
He was arraigned Friday before District Judge Harold Borek in Lansdale, who set bail at $5,000 cash, police said. Tournkara was sent to Montgomery County prison after failing to post bail. Tournkara also has an outstanding warrant from Montgomery County adult probation, police said.
Police thank the public for tips regarding the whereabouts of Tournkara.
This was the second time Tournkara was nabbed for allegedly selling marijuana in the borough.
Police said the warrant was the result of an investigation of Tournkara's alleged pot sales in the borough between July and November 2013.
Tournkara was charged Dec. 12, 2013, with two felony counts of possession with intent to distribute, two misdemeanor counts of possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, two counts of misdemeanor receipt in commerce of a controlled substance, and two misdemeanor counts of possession of a small amount of marijuana, police said.
Tournkara was previously nabbed by Lansdale Police in February 2013 for allegedly dealing drugs in the borough. Tournkara allegedly made three marijuana sales to an undercover detective of Lansdale Police's Street Crimes Unit between December 2012 and January 2013, police said. He was arrested at a traffic stop after the third alleged purchase on Jan. 31, 2013, police said.
In June 2013, police received word that Tournkara was allegedly once again involved in selling marijuana in Lansdale, police said.
An investigation began immediately into Tournkara's alleged sales, police said. In July 2013 and November 2013, detectives observed two alleged marijuana sales between Tournkara and individuals, police said.
Tournkara is, at present, on probation in Montgomery County, police said. He has failed to comply with his probation conditions and now has a probation warrant lodged against him, police said.
