I cannot swing a stick without getting an opinion on healthier eating.  Sometimes I get annoyed.  Okay, many times I get annoyed.  Sometimes I just want junk.  I always want to be able to eat anything I want whenever I want and not gain an ounce and never HAVE to exercise.  Yeah, I know.  I still believe in world peace, too.  Allow me my few moments of blissful fantasy.  Some days it’s all I’ve got. That said. . .I do like vegetables.  I like fish and chicken.  I doubt I’ll ever go vegetarian, but with a granddaughter making the declaration, I no longer feel I’ll starve without meat at every meal.  But if she goes vegan she’s on her own.  That just seems like way too much work to me. Both sons and their families are “in” to eating a healthy, more natural diet.  I’m there. . . sort of. . .okay, sometimes. . .when I eat at their houses.   I can’t always afford organic, but I get it.  I read labels.  I know that there are processed cheeses that have the same ingredients as the paint I put on my walls, that never saw a cow.  Making things from scratch takes time, but oh boy was yesterday’s lunch great!  You don’t need much pasta if you throw in a billion other things and if you spice it up a little, it feels more satisfying. Today I am grateful for healthy meals.  Wait.  Who is this?  Step away from the keyboard and go get Mary Mooney!  Hah!  It’s me.  Really.

I am grateful for healthy meals, even if I don’t always make that choice.  I’m getting there.  My husband, on the other hand. . .well. . .he is sure we’ve all lost our minds.
