A Lansdale man has been charged with assault in an alleged incident at a home on Walnut Street in Lansdale on Oct. 17.
Shawn O'Connor, 45, of the 400 block of Walnut Street, has an Oct. 30 preliminary hearing in Lansdale District Court, accused of misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment, per court records. O'Connor remains in Montgomery County jail on $10,000 bail.
Lansdale Police responded to the 400 block of Walnut Street for a report of an assault, and found the accuser outside the home, suffering from a bloodied, swollen nose that he claimed was broken, police said.
The accuser told police he came over to his friend's home to pick up his things because he used to live there, police said. He told police he was talking with the woman he used to live with, when O'Connor came up and "started acting like a jealous boyfriend," police allege.
O'Connor then began assaulting the man, punching him in the face five times with his fist, police allege.
Police saw blood on the floor in the kitchen. O'Connor was found in the home, seated at a desk in the living room, with a cut on his forehead and bloodied, cut hands, and blood on his pants, police said.
O'Connor told police he assaulted the man because he did not belong there, and because there was a restraining order prohibiting him from the house, police allege.
