The Lansdale Historical Society invites you to attend for its second Local History Seminar of the season. The full-length "A Town Is Born" DVD will be shown Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Wissahickon Park Building, E. Main St. and Lakeview Drive.

This will be the first public showing of the society's best-selling DVD which was recorded eight years ago. "A Town Is Born" traces the arrival of the North Penn Railroad in our region and how the decision to build spur lines from Lansdale to Doylestown and Norristown sparked the town's rapid development into the commercial hub of the North Penn Valley. Society President Dick Shearer, who narrated the program, will be on hand to answer questions.

There is no admission charge.
