The second Montgomery Township Police "Coffee With a Cop" event is set for May 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Starbucks at 738 Bethlehem Pike in Montgomery Township.
It is free and open to the public.
According to police Lt. Gerry Dougherty, "Coffee With a Cop" is simple: Police officers and the community come together in an informal setting to talk about municipal issues, build relationships and, of course, drink coffee.
"Community members come to local 'Coffee With A Cop' events for a variety of reasons, but no matter why they come, they are likely to leave with a more positive impression of their local police department," Dougherty said in a press release.
"One of the keys to 'Coffee With A Cop' success is that it removes the physical barriers and crisis situations that routinely define interactions between law enforcement and the communities in which they serve," he said. "Instead, it allows for a relaxed, informal one-on-one interaction in a friendly atmosphere."
