LANSDALE, Pa. - An April Fool's prank it was not.

Three vehicles in the rear parking lot of Clemens Uniform Rentals at 811 West Fifth Street in Lansdale were engulfed and destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning.

According to Lansdale Borough Police via Facebook, the fire broke out around 5:30 a.m.

Lansdale Fire Marshal Jay Daveler said two company trucks--a 2014 Chevrolet van and a 2009 Dodge Sprinter-- and a personal vehicle--a Chevrolet 1500 Silverado--were involved in the blaze.

Daveler said Fairmount Fire Co. of Lansdale responded to fight and extinguish the blaze.

"They quickly extinguished the fire and had it under control in 15, 20 minutes," he said.

Daveler said the company vehicles were loaded the night before with materials, including uniforms and rugs.

He said an employee of Clemens Uniform Rental had taken the two company vehicles out of the warehouse and parked them in the lot. The vehicles were parked close together and in front of the Silverado, he said.

One of the company trucks caught fire in its engine compartment shortly after the employee parked them in the lot, he said.

"It rapidly spread to the other two vehicles," he said.

There were no injuries, police said.

The incident remains under investigation, Daveler said.
