SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health Thursday reported 22,648 positive tests for the COVID-19 virus overnight, an increase of 46 cases with 708 COVID-19 deaths reported since March 8, 2020.

The New Jersey Department of Health on Thursday reported a total of 848,566 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state one year ago, an increase of 3,365 overnight. The death toll in New Jersey is 22,461, an increase of 47 overnight.

There have been 12,749,610 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.

Somerville has had a total of 1,031 COVID-19 cases since March 2020, with a total of 16 COVID-19 related deaths.

The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is 139,377,426 including 2,992,053 deaths, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention Thursday morning, with 32,168,325 cases in the United States and 578,285 deaths.

The SCDOH confirmed the deaths of 207 Franklin Township residents; 94 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 103 in Bridgewater; 47 in Bernards Township; 51 in North Plainfield; 35 in Green Brook; 15 in Watchung; 22 in Raritan; 23 in Bound Brook; 22 in Warren; 21 in Manville; 16 in Somerville; 21 in Montgomery; 10 in Branchburg; 5 in Bedminster; 5 in Bernardsville; 4 in South Bound Brook; 4 in Peapack-Gladstone; 1 in Rocky Hill and 1 in Far Hills.
