SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health Friday reported 22,154 positive tests for the COVID-19 virus overnight an increase of 143 cases with 706 COVID-19 deaths reported since March 8, 2020.

The New Jersey Department of Health on Friday reported a total of 831,260 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state one year ago, an increase of 3,465 overnight. The death toll in New Jersey is 22,253, an increase of 43 overnight.

There have been 12,518,703 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.

Somerville has had a total of 1,021 COVID-19 cases since March 2020, with a total of 16 COVID-19 related deaths.

The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is 134,901.149 including 2,920,645 deaths, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention Friday morning, with 31,729,532 cases in the United States and 573,938 deaths.

The SCDOH confirmed the deaths of 207 Franklin Township residents; 93 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 102 in Bridgewater; 47 in Bernards Township; 51 in North Plainfield; 35 in Green Brook; 15 in Watchung; 22 in Raritan; 23 in Bound Brook; 22 in Warren; 21 in Manville; 16 in Somerville; 21 in Montgomery; 10 in Branchburg; 5 in Bedminster; 5 in Bernardsville; 4 in South Bound Brook; 4 in Peapack-Gladstone and 1 in Rocky Hill and 1 in Far Hills.
