BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ -- Friends have taken to Twitter and Facebook to express their grief over the deaths of Berkeley Heights teen Eric Hagen, 15, and Scotch Plains High School student Tyler Devaney.

The posts include links to a WABC-TV story reporting on a deadly car crash in Plainfield that occurred at 6:00 a.m. on Dec. 26.

WABC-TV and other outlets reported that two males died early Saturday after a silver Honda hit a tree and flipped over near the intersection of Emerson Ave. and East 2nd Street in Plainfield. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Editor's note: Lauren Segalini, a Gov. Livingston sophomore, started a “Go Fund Me” donation site for Eric's family, which was announced on many Facebook sites to help with funeral costs.

"Eric Hagen, former GL student and friend to all, died December 26 in a devastating car crash. He left behind a loving family that will miss him dearly," Segalini stated on the Go Fund Me Site.
