NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – On Dec. 7, New York Times bestselling children's author Adam Gidwitz spent the day with staff and students at North Plainfield’s Somerset School.Gidwitz is the author of A Tale Dark and Grimm, In a Glass Grimmly, and The Grimm Conclusion as well as The Empire Strikes Back: So You Want to Be a Jedi? and the newly released The Inquisitor's Tale.

The day began with two highly informative and educational assemblies during the author detailed his typical day as a writer, and shared stories about the people and events that inspired his stories. Gidwitz also presented a captivating retelling of the original Grimm Brothers’ story of “Snow White” after which students were able to ask questions and hear more about how his career began. In the afternoon, the author also conducted several “How to Write an Awesome Story” workshops and chatted with many students as he signed books for them.

Gidwitz'  visit was sponsored by the Somerset School Media Center, and organized by media specialist Nancy Rodino and language arts teacher Melissa Hunton.
