Bishop James Checchio visited Holy Savior Academy on Tuesday November 28th. Bishop Checchio was the main celebrant of the school mass held at The Church of the Sacred Heart. This Mass also coincided with the 8th Grade Ring Ceremony.
Bishop Checchio spoke to the students, families and friends in attendance about “Thanking God first.” He also spoke directly to the 8th graders about looking back on their years at Holy Savior Academy with thanks. He even gave the entire school population “homework from the Bishop.” He asked the students to “thank their parents for sending them to Holy Savior Academy and for their sacrifices; thank their Principal and teachers and faculty, thank their priests and to thank the contributors that keep the school running.”
Bishop Checchio then presented each 8th Grade student with their ring. The students were elated to have the Bishop in attendance for their special day. “It was a tremendous honor to have Bishop Checchio celebrate our Ring Mass,” said Jamie Metz, an 8th grader at Holy Savior Academy.
After the Mass and Ring Ceremony, Bishop Checchio spent some time at Holy Savior Academy visiting with students and faculty.
We would like to thank Bishop Checchio for taking the time to visit with us!
