BRANSON, MO — Live shows, water sports, Silver Dollar City amusement park — Branson, Missouri, in the Ozarks has it all. Here’s what to know before you go:
Table Rock Lake
This man-made lake is the area’s biggest attraction, with 800 miles of shoreline. Its cold, clear water is perfect for fishing, boating and swimming.
Showboat Branson Belle offers family-friendly lunch and dinner cruises on the lake with shows featuring singing (everything from classic rock to Gospel), dancing, comedy and magic.
Tragically, the lake made national news recently when an amphibious Ride The Ducks boat sank there during a thunderstorm, killing 17 people.
Branson is known for its live entertainment — especially country music and Christian-themed shows. There are lots of choices for kids, too: Family-friendly is Branson’s middle name.

Before you hit the theater, stop at Mel’s Hard Luck Diner, where the talented singing wait staff will get you in the mood.
No trip to Branson is complete without a day at Silver Dollar City, a country-themed amusement park that boasts more than 40 rides and attractions, live entertainment, close-up encounter with artisan crafters and a real cave.
There are tons of other options around and near town, including a scenic train ride, go carts, zip lines, museums, zoos and aquariums.
