NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ- You're late. Or maybe not. Daylight saving time starts at 2 a.m. on Sunday and most of the United States will have gone back an hour and the correct time will be 1 a.m.
Fortunately for most people, this adjustment will take place automatically on smartphones, computers and tablets that have become the real timekeepers instead of watches and clocks. Those with non-automated devices on your wrists or shelves will have to manually upgrade the time.
Daylight saving time starts on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. Clocks “spring forward and fall back”; in spring, they are moved forward from 2:00 to 3:00 a.m., and in fall, they go back from 2:00 a.m to 1:00 a.m. (When’s the next time change? Spring forward one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016.)
Enjoy the lighter mornings and the extra hour of sleep tonight. Be safe this Halloween weekend. This is TAP's friendly reminder to make sure you set your clocks back one hour- at least before Monday morning.
