On the Road: Masters of The Louvre at SCLSNJ’s Watchung Library branch

Artist and photographer Walter Choroszewski shares his passion for the arts and history with a tour of the Louvre Museum in Paris. Walter showcases 25 artists with interesting biographical backstories and interpretations of their iconic artworks. Blairsden & The Creation of Ravine Lake at SCLSNJ’s Warren Township Library branch

Author and lecturer W. Barry Thomson will discuss the creation, in the 1890s, of Ravine Lake and the construction of the first home of the Somerset Hills Country Club, one of the country's first golf clubs. He will also cover the building of the adjacent Blairsden, one of the most beautiful and architecturally significant Beaux-Arts ensembles of house and landscape in America. Go, Van Gogh! at SCLSNJ’s Somerville Library branch (teens & adults)

A Dutch pastor turned painter, Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890) in the last decade of his 37 years produced more than 2,100 artworks, including 860 oil paintings and more than 1,300 watercolors, drawings, sketches, and prints. In his final letter to his brother, Theo, Van Gogh stated that, as he did not have any children, he viewed his paintings as his progeny. Explore then, Vincent and some of his “brilliant children” especially those in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
