The Family And Community Engagement Corp (aka Police Activity League) of Plainfield provides many productive activities for local youth and their families.

We currently have a thriving, low cost Family Karate program, as well as offering Music, Gymnastics, Dance, Computer Skills, Tutoring, and Mentoring programs. Our location is 1240 East Seventh Street in Plainfield, between Leland Avenue and Terrill Road, in the Cross of Life Church (rear entrance).  The FACE Corp Center is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 5:30 to 8:30 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to Noon.  Ages 3 and up are eligible for membership.

We are appealing to the community to join us in our fundraising efforts, to provide for equipment and other operating expenses. FACE Corp/PAL aims to expand our membership and engage in such activities as fishing club, field trips and community service projects.  Our fitness programs feature “Individual Progress Charts” for customized progress toward personal goals.  We have just created the Martial Arts Guidance and Mentoring Alliance (MAGMA), a league that will allow Plainfield area youth to compete without the high cost of most Martial Arts tournaments.

We plan to provide specialized group training for firefighters, law enforcement personnel, and others, in the near future.  And we host birthday parties and youth and adult social functions. FACE Corp/PAL is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, non-profit organization, also formerly known as “Police-Community Activity League of Plainfield,” which originally began in 1950 as the Police Athletic League of Plainfield (or “PAL”).

In addition to funding, we are seeking assistance in the form of volunteerism, advocacy, supplies, sponsorship, and equipment, as well as partnerships with other entities. We’re calling upon residents, businesses and government agencies in the Plainfield area and beyond to help make this venture an absolute lasting success.  We work hard at perfecting a model for other communities to follow.  We have NJ state certified instructors on staff.
