WATCHUNG, NJ – Watchung Police and members of the Somerset County Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force arrested Waleed L. Hosley of Irvington on possession of heroin and crack cocaine.
In a joint statement released by Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Acting Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor, and Watchung Borough Chief of Police Joseph R. Cina the Somerset County Organized Crime and Narcotics Unit received information that a black male would be at the mall in possession of heroin and crack cocaine.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. a surveillance team consisting of Task Force detectives allegedly observed Hosley arrive at the shopping center in the front passenger seat of a green Buick Century. After Hosley exited the vehicle and started to walk across the parking lot, detectives approached him and advised him of the ongoing narcotics investigation. Detectives conducted a search of Hosley and recovered five hundred (500) decks of heroin from his jacket. Detectives also located a clear plastic bag in his left front pants pocket that contained approximately twenty (20) grams of crack cocaine. Hosley was arrested without incident.
According to police, the heroin seized has an approximate street value of $3,500.00 and the cocaine seized has an approximate street value of $2,000.
Hosley was charged with 2nd Degree, Possession with the intent to Distribution CDS (Cocaine), and 3rd Degree, Possession with intent to Distribute CDS (Heroin).
Hosley was lodged in the Somerset County Jail with bail set by the Honorable John F. Richardson, J.M.C. at $200,000 cash or bond.
