EDISON, NJ - The JFK Medical Center Foundation has announced that, effective May 2015, Jason Cheng, President/CEO of Friendwell Group of Companies, and Steven C. Fleischer, Chief Sales Officer, Delta Dental of New Jersey, have been appointed to the organization’s Board of Directors.

“We are delighted to welcome these accomplished professionals to our Board,” Joseph W. Yewaisis, Chair, JFK Foundation noted. “Each brings a unique perspective to the goals and challenges of our organization, along with an impressive body of skills, knowledge and experience. We look forward to their contributions as we work together to advance the philanthropic mission of the Foundation Board.”

Jason Cheng joins the Foundation Board with an extensive background in real estate development and hotel management. Since 1997, he has served as President/CEO of Friendwell Group of Companies, which specializes in the acquisition and management of income-producing real estate, including shopping centers, office buildings and hotels across the northeastern United States. Prior to his role at Friendwell, Cheng was Assistant General Manager for Comfort Inn, San Gabriel, California. He holds a B.S. With a home and offices in Edison, Cheng feels a personal responsibility to serve his local hospital.

“JFK Medical Center is our neighbor and an important part of our community,” Cheng stated. “I hope that my knowledge in construction and real estate financing will prove valuable, as well as my connection with the area’s Chinese community. I believe that I can provide meaningful recommendations, while helping to strengthen multicultural relations and hospital services.”

In addition to his JFK appointment, Cheng sits on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce.

Steven C. Fleischer comes to the JFK Foundation with 30 years’ experience in sales and marketing as well as an intricate understanding of the health care industry. In 2009, he joined Delta Dental of New Jersey as Vice President, Sales & Marketing. In this capacity, he oversees sales, client retention, marketing and business development while also participating on national leadership committees for the Delta Dental Plan Association. Additionally, he served as Director of Sales at Delta Dental of New York and held several senior executive positions at Aetna U.S. Healthcare.

Through his role at Delta Dental, Fleischer has developed strong ties with JFK Medical Center and believes his appointment to the JFK Foundation Board of Directors is a natural extension of that partnership. “I have a strong focus and interest in oral health and overall wellness, which aligns perfectly with what JFK is all about,” he said. “I’m excited about helping to move the hospital forward and elevate the quality of health care available to the community.”

An active member of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association, National Association of Health Underwriters, and Northeast Business Group on Health, Fleischer earned a B.B.A. Degree in Marketing from Ohio University. He currently resides in Livingston, New Jersey.
